Kanzaki, Administrative center in central Saga Prefecture, Japan

The city stretches between the Sefuri Mountains in the north and the Saga Plain along the Chikugo River bank in the south.

The territorial development of Kanzaki evolved from the Edo period Saga Domain until its establishment as a town in 1893 and city status in 2006.

The education system in Kanzaki includes seven elementary schools, three junior high schools, two public high schools, and the notable Nishikyushu University.

The city connects to major transportation networks through the JR Kyushu Nagasaki Main Line and national highways 34, 264, and 385.

The Yoshinogari Historical Park in Kanzaki preserves archaeological remains and structures from ancient Japanese settlements in the region.
