Mori, Traditional town in Shuchi District, Japan

Located in western Shizuoka Prefecture, Mori extends across 133.91 square kilometers of inland hills with a population density of 134 persons per square kilometer.

The town became officially recognized within Shuchi District in 1889 and underwent significant expansion in 1955 through the annexation of five neighboring villages.

The Okuni Shrine, which began construction in 555 AD, stands as a center for prayers dedicated to the deity Okuninushi no Mikoto within the town.

Mori maintains five elementary schools, three junior high schools, and one public high school, serving the educational needs of local residents.

The History and Folk Museum, housed in an 1885 building, displays a collection of artifacts representing different periods of daily life in Mori.
