Higashikushira

Higashikushira is an administrative town on the eastern coast of the Osumi Peninsula, characterized by flat terrain and proximity to Shibushi Bay. The settlement contains residential areas, schools, and local facilities that serve the surrounding communities.

The area holds archaeological remains dating to the Jomon and Yayoi periods, revealing human settlement from prehistoric times. The Tojin Kofun Cluster stands as a nationally designated historic site recognizing the region's ancient heritage.
