Aki district, Administrative district in Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan
The Aki district encompasses four principal towns - Fuchū, Kaita, Kumano, and Saka - spanning across 73.41 square kilometers of Hiroshima Prefecture's terrain.
The district was formally established on November 1, 1878, and underwent significant administrative changes in the early 2000s when several towns merged with neighboring municipalities.
Each town within Aki district maintains its own festivals and traditions, with Saka gaining recognition for its sake production and Kumano preserving local craftsmanship.
The district benefits from an extensive transportation network, connecting its towns to major urban centers through railway lines and bus routes across Hiroshima Prefecture.
Mazda's automobile factory has operated in the district since the 1930s, contributing to the industrial development and economic growth of the region.
