Yufutsu district

The Yufutsu district spans across both Iburi and Kamikawa Subprefectures, containing four primary municipalities: Atsuma, Abira, Mukawa, and Shimukappu.

The district was formally established on July 23, 1879, as part of the administrative restructuring of Hokkaido during the Meiji period modernization efforts.

Each municipality within Yufutsu district maintains local festivals and community gatherings that strengthen connections between residents throughout the four towns.

The district provides access to agricultural lands where farmers produce various crops, including rice and vegetables, particularly in the Atsuma region.

Yufutsu district extends across two different subprefectures, making it one of the few administrative regions in Hokkaido with dual jurisdictional oversight.
