Tosashimizu

Tosashimizu occupies the southwestern tip of Shikoku island, surrounded by the Pacific Ocean with Tosa Bay to the east and Bungo Channel to the west.

The establishment of Tosashimizu as an official city occurred in 1954 through the merger of several smaller towns within the ancient Tosa Province region.

Kongofuji Temple, number 38 on the Shikoku Pilgrimage route, stands as a central religious structure that draws numerous visitors throughout the year.

The city maintains a population of 12,407 residents across 266 square kilometers, with transportation primarily relying on bus services connecting to Nakamura Station.

Local fisheries produce Sodabushi from frigate mackerel, controlling 70 percent of this specific seafood market segment in Japan.
