Myōhō–ji, Buddhist temple in Matsubagayatsu, Japan.
The temple grounds include traditional halls, stone lanterns from Zōjō-ji, and a mossy stairway leading to different sections of the complex.
Founded in 1253 by monk Ninnō Shōin, Myōhō-ji underwent significant renovations in 1357 under Nichiei, who dedicated the temple to Prince Morinaga.
The temple holds the annual Yakuyoke Shōga ceremony in August to commemorate the Matsubagayatsu Persecution through religious rituals and community gatherings.
Located at coordinates 35.312911, 139.559103, the temple offers guided tours explaining its architecture and religious significance within the Nichiren sect.
The main hall contains an effigy of Prince Morinaga alongside Buddhist relics, with a mausoleum housing memorials for previous temple priests.
