Mount Yoshino

Mount Yoshino rises 678 meters above sea level and features 30,000 cherry trees planted across its four distinct levels from base to summit.

In the 14th century, Emperor Go-Daigo established a secondary imperial court on Mount Yoshino during the period of Northern and Southern Courts.

The mountain serves as a primary center for Shugendo mountain worship practitioners who gather at Kinpusen-ji Temple before ascending to Mount Omine.

Visitors can reach Mount Yoshino via the Kintetsu railway line to Yoshino Station, followed by a ropeway ride or 20-minute walk to Yoshinoyama town.

The cherry trees bloom progressively from lower to upper slopes between March and May, creating four distinct flowering periods across different elevation zones.
