Sakai-ku

Sakai-ku extends over 23.69 square kilometers with a population density of 6,223 residents per square kilometer in the northern area of Sakai city.

The ward gained its administrative status in 2006 when Sakai received designation as a government ordinance city, marking a new phase of local governance.

The municipal district houses multiple Buddhist temples, including the Myokoku-ji temple, which maintains regular religious ceremonies and traditional practices throughout the year.
