Ōmiya, Administrative district in Saitama, Japan.

The ward covers 12.80 square kilometers in the northeastern part of Saitama City, with a population density of 9,300 persons per square kilometer.

Established as a town in 1889, Omiya merged with neighboring villages in 1940 to gain city status before joining Saitama City in 2001.

The Hikawa Shrine, from which Omiya takes its name meaning 'great shrine', stands as a religious center dating back to the Heian period.

Omiya Station functions as a major transportation hub, connecting multiple railway lines including the Tohoku, Joetsu, Akita, Yamagata, and Hokuriku Shinkansen.

Following the 1923 Great Kanto earthquake, numerous bonsai nurseries relocated from Tokyo to Omiya, establishing a specialized horticultural district.
