Omiya Bonsai Art Museum, Saitama

The Omiya Bonsai Art Museum displays over 120 specimens of bonsai trees alongside woodblock prints and historical artifacts in dedicated exhibition spaces.

The museum opened in 2010 as the first public institution dedicated to bonsai, following the area's transformation into a bonsai cultivation center after the 1925 Great Kanto Earthquake.

The museum maintains seventy seasonal bonsai displays, reflecting Japanese horticultural techniques of grafting and pruning that span multiple generations.

Located 36 minutes from Tokyo Station via JR Ueno-Tokyo Line to Toro Station, the museum operates from 9:00 to 16:30 during March through October.

Several specimens in the collection reach ages of approximately 1,000 years, demonstrating the extended timeline of bonsai cultivation and preservation.
