Shinshūshinmachi

Shinshūshinmachi was a small town in Kamiminochi District within Nagano Prefecture in the Chūbu region of central Japan. The community sat in a mountainous area that formed part of the prefecture's rural northern landscape.

The town operated as an independent municipality until January 1, 2010, when it merged with Nakajō village. This consolidation was part of an administrative reorganization that brought together several smaller communities across the Nagano region.

The former town hall of Shinshūshinmachi continues to represent local heritage and serves as a gathering place for community celebrations point.

Since this is a former municipality, visitors can explore the area today as part of the expanded Nagano city. The rural character of the region remains intact, with local attractions and walking routes taking advantage of the natural mountain landscape.

The town experienced a gradual population decrease, dropping from 5,762 residents in 2003 to 5,181 in 2008, reflecting demographic changes in rural Japan point.
