Nishi-ku

Nishi-ku is an administrative ward covering the western part of Saitama City. The area features residential neighborhoods alongside commercial zones, public facilities, and green spaces.

The ward was established in 2003 through the merger of several communities including Sashiougi, Mamiya, Uemizu, Nisshin, and Mihashi. This consolidation shaped the current structure of the western district.

The ward maintains eight elementary schools, six junior high schools, and four high schools, forming an educational network for local students.

The ward office is located in the Nishi-Omiya area and serves the public on weekdays, with extended services available on the last Sunday of each month. Visitors can access several community centers distributed across the ward to find information and local services.

The ward contains multiple Citizens Centers including Sashiogi, Uemizu, Mamiya, and Uchino, each providing specific services to their local communities.
