Nakasatsunai, Rural village in Tokachi Subprefecture, Japan

Nakasatsunai extends across 292 square kilometers of agricultural land in Hokkaido, maintaining a population of approximately 4,000 residents within its boundaries.

The establishment of Nakasatsunai as an official village in 1947 marked a significant period of post-war development in the Kasai district of Hokkaido.

The village introduced Pi-tan, a mascot depicting a baby chick wearing a top hat and carrying lily of the valley, representing local agricultural traditions.

The Nakasatsunai Art Village operates between late April and mid-October, offering 100 parking spaces and requiring personal transportation due to limited public transit.

The Nakasatsunai Art Museum displays works by Masami Mano, known for combining watercolors with precise outlines created through masking sheet techniques.
