Phnom Aural

Phnom Aural is the highest peak in Kampong Speu Province, rising to approximately 1,813 meters with dense bamboo forests and numerous hiking trails throughout. The landscape features pristine woodland that characterizes the natural environment of western Cambodia.

The mountain has long served as a natural barrier and vantage point throughout Cambodia's past. Its location shaped how populations moved and settled across the western region.

The mountain hosts several wildlife species including monkeys and wild boars that frequently cross the forest paths in early morning hours. Those who start hiking early have better chances of encountering these animals in their habitat.
