Samjiyon Revolutionary Battle Site, Revolutionary monument in Samji-yŏn, North Korea.
The Samjiyon Revolutionary Battle Site in Samji-yŏn is a memorial complex featuring a central 15-meter bronze statue at its core. The grounds include multiple sculptural elements spread across the landscape, designed to commemorate the armed conflicts of the period.
The complex was built in May 1979 to honor the 1939 armed resistance when fighters opposed the occupying forces. It marks a pivotal moment in the region's struggle against foreign control.
The site displays granite sculptures such as the Forward March Trumpeter group, showing fighters moving into combat with determined expressions.
The site is accessible via Samjiyŏn-sŏn railway station and sits near the adjacent Paektusan Museum. Wear sturdy shoes since the complex spreads across uneven terrain and multiple levels.
A 50-meter tower stands to the right of the main statue, topped with a torch that echoes the Juche Tower in Pyongyang. This architectural element connects the site to national symbols of the capital.
