Kimilsungia and Kimjongilia Exhibition Hall, Flower exhibition hall in Pyongyang, North Korea

The Kimilsungia and Kimjongilia Exhibition Hall is a flower museum in Pyongyang displaying two plant species in numerous arrangements throughout its spaces. The building presents the purple orchid and red begonia side by side to highlight their individual characteristics and cultivation methods.

The facility opened in 2002 to showcase two plants that were created and named in different years. The purple orchid was introduced in 1975 by an Indonesian botanist, while the red begonia was developed in 1988 by Japanese growers.

The two flowers are deeply connected to the country's political history and visitors encounter them associated with important figures throughout the nation. Inside the exhibition spaces, you can observe how these plants are displayed and honored across different cultural settings.

The building has detailed information panels in multiple languages explaining the cultivation methods and significance of both flower varieties. The signage helps visitors understand the different exhibition areas and follow the details of plant care throughout the spaces.

The museum organizes special festivals for certain occasions when hundreds of specimens demonstrate different growing and display methods. These events give visitors a chance to see the full range of both plant varieties on display.
