Namyangju

The city stretches across northeastern Gyeonggi Province, bordered by Gapyeong County to the east, Guri City to the west, and Pocheon City to the north.

Namyangju emerged as an independent administrative unit in April 1980 when it separated from Yangju-gun, later merging with Migeum-si in 1995 to form its current structure.

The National Arboretum contains fifteen specialized forests within Gwangneung Forest, presenting diverse plant species and research facilities since its establishment in 1987.

The Seoul Ring Expressway and Jungang Line provide direct transportation connections to Seoul, making the city accessible for residents and visitors.

The Namyangju Organic Museum, established in 2011, stands as the first museum in the world dedicated to documenting the evolution of organic agriculture.
