Namyangju

Namyangju is a city located in northeastern Gyeonggi Province with a landscape that blends developed areas and natural zones. The territory encompasses residential districts alongside extensive forests and agricultural areas that characterize the region.

The city became an independent administrative area in 1980 through separation from a neighboring district. A subsequent merger in 1995 established its present form and boundaries.

The National Arboretum displays fifteen different forest types where visitors encounter rare plants and research facilities. People come here to experience the country's plant diversity and learn about forest conservation firsthand.

The area benefits from rail and expressway connections to nearby Seoul, making it easy to reach. Visitors will find good infrastructure and can use the city as a base for exploring the wider region.

A museum established in 2011 documents the history of organic farming and its worldwide development. It is the only one of its kind, recording how this agricultural approach has evolved over time.
