Olympic Hall, Music venue in Olympic Park, Seoul, South Korea.
Olympic Hall is a concert hall in Olympic Park, Seoul, with a main auditorium seating over 2,000 and a side room for smaller performances. Inside there are several tiers of fixed rows, technical control rooms behind the stage, and an entrance lobby with ticket counters and information boards.
The hall opened in 2003 as part of a series of cultural buildings in Olympic Park. Eight years later the Ministry of Culture ordered the replacement of acoustic equipment and the redesign of interior spaces.
The building takes its name from its location next to the park created for the 1988 Summer Games. Visitors today can explore a permanent exhibition on the ground floor that traces the evolution of Korean pop music across nearly a century.
The entrance sits on Olympic-ro in Songpa-gu district and can be reached from several nearby subway stations. Seating arrangements shift depending on the event, and the acoustics are calibrated for both concerts and spoken performances.
The second hall with around 240 seats regularly hosts musicians without recording contracts who try out new material. This room has lower ceilings and a stage level with the first row of seats, reducing the distance to the audience.
