Lotte World, Indoor and outdoor amusement park in Sincheon-dong, Seoul, South Korea
Lotte World is a recreation complex in Sincheon-dong, Seoul, combining covered rides, an outdoor zone called Magic Island, shopping areas, and a connected hotel. The indoor sections rise through several levels beneath a glass roof, while outside, roller coasters and water rides circle an artificial lake.
The complex opened on July 12, 1989, as the first major recreation center of this kind in South Korea. Over the years, owners expanded the site several times, adding new ride zones and building wings.
The complex includes a folk museum displaying everyday objects from past Korean life. Throughout the day, costumed parades and performances move through the halls, bringing traditional scenes to life for visitors.
The park opens daily at 10 in the morning and closes at 9 in the evening, with ticket counters stopping new entries about an hour before closing. On weekends and during school holidays, expect longer queues at the most popular rides.
The site operates more than 40 different rides year-round without seasonal closures, including the Gyro Drop and the Atlantis water ride. Some roller coasters run through the interior and then exit the building to loop over the lake.
