Seokchon Lake Park

Seokchon Lake Park is a recreational area in Seoul featuring two connected lake sections with walking paths and open spaces for visitors to explore. The park includes landscaped grounds, rest areas, and viewing spots around the water.

The lake formed in 1971 when construction connected an island to the mainland and enclosed part of the Han River. What was originally a water management project became a public park over time.

Seoul Playground, an outdoor stage within the park, hosts traditional Korean folk performances on weekends from April through October, drawing visitors interested in local arts. The venue has become a gathering place for cultural events throughout the warmer seasons.

Entry to the park is free and open to the public, with easy subway access nearby. Wear comfortable walking shoes as you explore the grounds and be prepared for seasonal weather variations.

A section called Photo Island draws photographers seeking particular views of the water with the city skyline as a backdrop. This spot has become popular among people wanting to capture contrasts between the natural setting and surrounding urban development.
