Seongbuk District

Seongbuk is an administrative district in northern Seoul covering about 24 square kilometers with numerous smaller neighborhoods. The area combines modern urban infrastructure with older residential sections and cultural institutions.

The district received its current status in 1949 and was formed from sections of neighboring areas. This administrative reorganization helped manage rapidly growing Seoul more effectively.
