Juwangsan National Park

Juwangsan National Park is a mountain preserve in North Gyeongsang featuring granite peaks and layered rock formations shaped by geological processes. The terrain spreads across multiple valleys with marked trails running between the rocky ridges.

The park was officially designated in 1976 as South Korea's twelfth national park, establishing protection for the region. This decision secured the conservation of the mountain landscape and its geological features.

Daejeonsa Temple at the park entrance displays Buddhist architecture and serves as a spiritual center for visitors exploring the mountains. The temple buildings and layout reflect how local communities have connected this place to their religious traditions.

The park is accessible to visitors, though sturdy footwear is essential as trails are rocky and sometimes steep. Bring water, check weather conditions, and allow plenty of time for longer hikes to enjoy your visit safely.

Juwang Valley contains columnar rock formations and tiered waterfalls that stand out from typical mountain landscapes. The site gained recognition as a UNESCO Global Geopark in 2017, reflecting its geological importance.
