Jirisan National Park

Jirisan National Park spans across mountains, forests, and valleys, featuring the second-highest peak in South Korea at 1,915 meters above sea level.

The park, designated as South Korea's first national park in 1967, has protected numerous endemic species and ancient Buddhist temples for over five decades.

Buddhist temples within the park boundaries, including Hwaeomsa, demonstrate the deep connection between Korean spiritual traditions and natural landscapes.

Visitors can access multiple entrance points through public transportation from nearby cities, with information centers providing maps and seasonal hiking recommendations.

The park hosts a population of Asian black bears and Korean gorals, making it a critical conservation area for these rare native species.
