Legoland Korea Resort, Theme park in Chuncheon, South Korea
Legoland Korea Resort is a theme park on Jungdo Island featuring over 40 rides and attractions designed for families with children. The grounds include themed hotels, dining options, shops, and multiple entertainment zones such as Bricktopia, Lego Castle, Lego City, and Ninjago World.
The park developed from a 2011 agreement between Gangwon Province and Merlin Entertainment Group, opening on May 5, 2022. This project introduced the brand to South Korea and created a new destination for families in the region.
The Miniland section displays detailed recreations of South Korean landmarks like Gyeongbokgung Palace and Busan Marine City built entirely from Lego bricks. These reproductions show how local architectural traditions come to life through creative building, giving visitors a playful view of Korea's landmarks.
The park sits on Jungdo Island in Uiam Lake, reached by a bridge built with support from Gangwon Province. From Chuncheon Station on the Gyeongchun Line, a taxi or shuttle bus takes about five minutes. The Legoland Hotel operates around the clock for guests staying overnight.
Jungdo Island, where the park stands, held a large site of rare relics going back 5,000 years; construction buried the archaeological site and caused what critics call permanent damage. The park does not display or incorporate those finds.
