The Renaissance Revival building features a two-story structure with a main hall of 500 square meters and balconies with special loges for dignitaries.
The theater opened in 1892 as Kaunas City Theatre and later served as a venue for significant state functions when Kaunas became Lithuania's temporary capital.
The institution maintains a repertoire of 30 different performances, including operas, operettas, musicals, concerts, and dance performances with a full symphonic orchestra.
Located at Laisvės Avenue 91, the theater operates from October to May with modern lighting systems and a seating capacity of 763 persons.
The theater employs 330 staff members, including a rhythmic band, ballet troupe, choir, and over 30 soloist singers performing various genres.
