Energy and Technology Museum, Science museum in eastern Vilnius, Lithuania.
The Energy and Technology Museum is a science museum in eastern Vilnius housed in a former power plant building. The exhibition spans 5,000 square meters and displays steam boilers, turbines, generators, and piping systems from the historic facility's operation.
The building was once Vilnius's first central power station, beginning operations in 1903 during the city's electrification. The museum opened in 2002 to preserve the story of how industry and electricity transformed the urban landscape.
The museum shows how energy is generated and what role power plants played in modern society. Visitors can see old machines and understand how people once created electricity.
The museum is located on Rinktinės Street and is open Tuesday through Sunday. Plan to spend two to three hours exploring the exhibition and trying the interactive stations throughout the building.
The museum's rooftop is equipped with wind turbines and solar panels that power the building itself. Visitors can also interact with a replica aircraft called Lituanica and enjoy views across the Old Town from that vantage point.
