Gediminas Hill Lift, Inclined elevator at Gediminas Hill, Lithuania
The Gediminas Hill Lift extends over 65 meters with a height difference of 39 meters, operating at an inclination of 37 degrees.
Built in 2003 by ABS Transportbahnen, this inclined elevator provides access to the medieval Gediminas Castle, established by Grand Duke Gediminas in 1323.
The elevator connects visitors to Gediminas Tower, a major symbol of Lithuanian independence and medieval heritage located at the summit of the hill.
The electric-powered cabin accommodates 16 passengers at once, moving at 2 meters per second and completing each journey in approximately one minute.
The lift system operates on a specialized track gauge of 1,200 millimeters, enabling smooth transport across the steep hillside terrain.
