Užutrakis Manor, Neoclassical manor estate in Trakai, Lithuania.
Užutrakis Manor is a neoclassical estate house standing on a peninsula overlooking Lake Galinė, with interiors styled after French classical design and architectural elements throughout the main building. The grounds also include formal gardens and landscaped parks that surround the structure.
The manor was built in 1895 for Count Józef Tyszkiewicz under the direction of architect Józef Huss and served as a residence until World War I. After that period, the estate went through various changes in how it was used and maintained.
The rooms inside show how Lithuanian noble families lived, with French classical spaces that reveal the tastes and daily habits of those who called it home. The decoration tells the story of a time when European elegance met local traditions.
The estate welcomes visitors daily and offers guided tours of the main building and surrounding gardens and park areas. Wearing comfortable shoes is recommended since the grounds are spacious and much of the visit involves walking.
The grounds contain a park with nearly 100 different tree and shrub species connected by a network of artificial ponds and waterways. This botanical variety makes the visit a diverse experience of both natural and human-made landscapes.
