Valdanos

Valdanos is a pebble beach in a cove along the Ulcinj coast, curving gently as it follows the water's edge. It is framed by ancient olive trees that reach down to the shoreline, creating a natural transition between hillside and sea.

The area was long restricted as a military zone before becoming accessible to the public as a beach. This shift from a closed area to an open recreational space reflects the region's transformation after military use ended.

The olive groves surrounding the beach have been woven into local life for generations and shape the landscape you see today. You notice the marks of this long tradition of oil production everywhere among the trees.

The beach has showers and toilets along with rental loungers and several waterfront restaurants for meals. Check the best time to visit in advance, as it can fill quickly on nice days.

The merging of beach and olive trees is unusual, with the trees reaching almost to the water and forming a green backdrop for swimming. This blend of water, pebbles, and ancient trees is rare along the Adriatic coast.
