Rumija, Mountain summit and range in Montenegro
The Rumija mountain rises 1,594 meters between Lake Skadar and the Adriatic Sea, forming a natural barrier in southern Montenegro.
The Serbian Orthodox Church installed a metal church at Rumija's summit by helicopter in 2005, replacing an earlier structure destroyed by Ottomans in 1571.
The Cross of Jovan Vladimir procession takes place annually in August, bringing together Orthodox Christians, Catholics, and Muslims at the mountain summit.
Multiple hiking trails lead to Rumija's peak from Bar town, with the main route requiring approximately 4 to 5 hours to complete.
The mountain represents the southernmost peak in Montenegro with a prominence exceeding 1,500 meters from both the lake and sea sides.
