Titov Vrv is a mountain peak in the Shar Planina range standing at about 2747 meters with steep rocky slopes and rough terrain. The summit sits near the border with Kosovo and forms part of a ridge with several other notable elevations.
The peak was originally called Big Turk and renamed Mount Aleksandar in 1934, receiving its current name in 1953 to honor Josip Broz Tito. These name changes reflect how political shifts shaped the region's geography.
The peak's name reflects how mountains in this region serve as places of regional significance and identity. Climbers from surrounding areas visit to experience one of the highest points in the local landscape.
The climb starts from Popova Shapka Ski Center and demands good fitness for the steep ascent with substantial elevation changes and multiple intermediate peaks. Visitors should bring sturdy footwear, proper gear, and allow a full day for the hike.
Along the route to the summit, hikers pass several other peaks including Sin Vrv, Karabunar, and Bakardan, each standing above 2500 meters. This sequence of elevations makes the journey an exploration of multiple mountain landmarks in a single outing.
