Džini Beg

Džini Beg is a mountain summit in the Šar Mountains rising to 2,610 meters. The peak offers wide views across North Macedonia and Kosovo.

This peak has served as a natural boundary between territories for centuries and has been a reference point for local populations since ancient times. Its role in marking borders has remained constant throughout history.

Local people from both sides of the border have long used the slopes for seasonal herding and plant gathering. These traditional activities remain part of how communities interact with the mountain today.

Multiple hiking trails of varying difficulty lead to the summit, with the easiest route starting from the base in Tetovo Municipality. Visitors should check weather conditions and wear sturdy footwear.

Near the peak sits a circular lake called Dinivodno, measuring about 80 centimeters deep. This small body of water reflects the surrounding slopes throughout the year.
