Sri Ksetra Kingdom

Sri Ksetra is an ancient ruined city in central Myanmar with extensive earthen walls, fortifications, and defensive ditches surrounding temple complexes and residential areas. The site displays remnants of buildings scattered across the landscape that reveal different aspects of how the settlement was organized.

The city flourished from the 1st to 9th centuries as a major trading hub of the Pyu civilization linking India and China. During this period it served as an administrative and commercial center before eventually being abandoned.

Buddhist monuments scattered across the site show how believers expressed their faith through temples and stupas built over time. Walking through the area, you notice how these structures shaped the community's spiritual life.
