The National Museum of Mongolia exhibits 100,000 artifacts across multiple halls, displaying collections from prehistoric periods through modern Mongolian history.
Established in 1924, the museum began as a governmental institution and expanded its collections to become Mongolia's largest repository of historical artifacts.
The museum contains traditional clothing, jewelry, weapons, and religious objects representing different periods of Mongolian civilization and nomadic heritage.
Located in central Ulaanbaatar, the museum maintains daily operations from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM with multilingual information panels throughout the exhibitions.
The museum preserves ancient deer stones, stone monuments dating from 1000 BCE, documenting early human settlements in the Mongolian steppes.
