Palazzo Costanzo is a two-story palace in medieval Mdina with a symmetrical limestone facade that faces Villegaignon Street. The building features a rectangular doorway, an oval window, and an open balcony, with underground cellars beneath.
The building was constructed in 1666 by Tomaso Costanzo as a residence for a Sicilian noble family. It was built during a period when Mdina served as an important fortified settlement in the heart of the island.
The building takes its name from the family who built and inhabited it centuries ago. Walking past, you notice how the stone work and details reflect the tastes of the period.
The palace is located in Mdina, an area best explored on foot through its narrow medieval streets. The interior now functions as a restaurant where visitors can dine, though the exterior can also be appreciated from the street.
