Mdina Gate, Baroque gateway in Mdina, Malta

The main entrance to the fortified city features double pilasters, coats of arms, and an arched stone bridge decorated with lion statues.

Constructed in 1724 by architect Charles François de Mondion, the gate replaced a medieval entrance system with three separate gates and courtyards.

Three patron saints of Malta, St. Publius, St. Paul, and St. Agatha, are represented in relief sculptures on the inner side of the gate.

The gate stands near the Rabat bus station, providing direct access to the ancient city through its primary entrance point.

The structure appeared in the television series Game of Thrones as one of the gates of King's Landing, making it recognizable to global audiences.
