Kempinski Hotel Muscat, hotel in Muscat, Oman
Kempinski Hotel Muscat is a resort hotel in the Al Mouj district of Muscat, Oman. It offers rooms with sea views, large bathrooms with freestanding baths, several dining venues, a spa, and two infinity pools that face the ocean directly.
The hotel opened in 2018 as part of the Al Mouj development, one of Oman's largest planned coastal projects. Al Mouj was built to bring together housing, leisure, and hospitality in a single seafront district.
The decor mixes Arabian patterns with contemporary design, visible in the columns, regional artworks, and patterned carpets throughout the public areas. This style reflects the kind of upscale local aesthetic that runs through many of Muscat's newer buildings.
The hotel sits close to Muscat's airport and is easy to reach, with onsite parking and direct beach access. The outdoor pool areas get very hot under the midday sun, so mornings or late afternoons are a better time to use them.
The hotel brought in Lebanese chef Joe Barza to shape the menus across its restaurants, including a modern take on Gola, a local shredded pancake dish. The hotel also runs themed wine and cheese evenings where guests who buy a bottle receive a cheese platter at no extra charge.
