Balbalasang-Balbalan National Park

Balbalasang-Balbalan National Park is a protected area in the Cordillera's mountain region. Mount Balbalasang and several rivers flowing toward the Saltan system shape the landscape here.

The Philippine Congress designated this area as a protected zone in 1972. This official recognition came from efforts to preserve the natural resources and wildlife found in these mountains.

Local communities living within and around the park maintain traditional farming methods and crafts passed down through generations. Their presence shapes how the land is used and cared for today.

Visitors need to obtain permission from local authorities before entering the park. Trails run through the area, and hiring a local guide is helpful since routes are not always clearly marked.

The area is an important bird sanctuary hosting over 80 bird species, many found only on the Philippines. This ecological significance makes it a special place for nature watchers and bird enthusiasts.
