Centrio, Shopping mall in Cagayan de Oro, Philippines.
Centrio is a large shopping complex in Cagayan de Oro combining retail spaces, office areas, and residential units spread across multiple buildings. Inside you will find a major supermarket, a two-level department store, and numerous smaller shops throughout the space.
The complex opened in 2012 and made a notable choice to preserve the natural landscape during its development. Two old acacia trees standing on the site were protected and incorporated into a garden that exists there today.
The Department of Foreign Affairs office here serves as a major hub for travel documents throughout Northern Mindanao, drawing residents from across the region. This function has made the complex an important civic landmark for the local community.
The complex is laid out with multiple entrances and parking areas, making it easy to navigate the space. You can move freely between the different sections with shops, dining options, and other facilities.
The complex is topped by a modern eight-story hotel built directly above the shopping area, an unusual combination of uses in one space. A separate 23-story residential tower on the grounds offers residents views of the river and surrounding mountains.
