Gala–Rodriguez House

The Gala-Rodriguez House is a two-story mansion with Art Deco features located in Sariaya, a town south of Manila. The building showcases a curved glass canopy above the entrance, formal reception areas inside, and European-style furnishings throughout its rooms.

The mansion was built in 1935 by Dr. Isidro Rodriguez as a residence for his wife Gregoria. During World War II, Japanese military forces occupied the building and used it as their local headquarters.

The residence reflects how affluent families in this region chose to live during the early 20th century, with rooms designed to showcase a European lifestyle. Visitors can see how the owners blended imported furnishings with local architectural traditions.

The mansion contains a hidden cellar accessed through a trapdoor concealed in the floor, which served as a refuge for family members during the Japanese occupation. This secret space remains accessible to visitors who explore the house carefully.
