The University of Makati is a university in Makati, Philippines, located near J. P. Rizal Avenue Extension and across from Taguig People's Park. The campus includes classrooms, laboratories, a library, a large gym, theaters, a multimedia center, and green spaces for studying and recreation.
The institution began in 1972 as Makati Polytechnic Community College, teaching technical and business skills. It changed names and merged with other colleges over the years, becoming a university in 1991 and adopting its current name in 2002.
The University of Makati uses royal blue and yellow as school colors, visible during celebrations throughout the campus. The Herons mascot, represented by a heron bird, symbolizes strength and focus in the stories and traditions students and staff share.
