Pamitinan Cave

Pamitinan is a limestone cave situated in the foothills of the Sierra Madre mountain range near Wawa Dam in Rodriguez. The cave features natural rock formations and large chambers with stone walls that reveal geological layers and passages.

The cave served as a key meeting place during the Philippine independence movement and later provided shelter during World War II. Both periods left important marks on the site's historical significance.

The cave walls preserve inscriptions from independence fighters, including the phrase 'Viva la Independencia Filipina' carved into the rock. These markings show how people used the space to express their aspirations for freedom and self-determination.
