Pir Chinasi is a mountain in Muzaffarabad District, Pakistan, topped by a shrine complex that includes a mosque and a mausoleum. A paved road winds up through the forested slopes, passing more than 30 sharp turns before reaching the summit.
The mountain takes its name from Saint Shah Hussain Bukhari, who is said to have established a sacred presence at this location long ago. His legacy turned the summit into a destination for pilgrims from across the wider region.
The shrine at the top draws pilgrims throughout the year, and the space feels active and devotional rather than touristic. A mosque and a mausoleum sit side by side, giving the place a dual purpose that visitors can clearly sense when walking through it.
The road up from Muzaffarabad is steep and full of tight bends, so careful driving is needed throughout the ascent. Morning visits tend to offer clearer views, as clouds often gather around the summit later in the day.
In winter, the snowy roads up the mountain become the setting for jeep rallies that draw drivers from across the area. The summit is also used as a launch point by paragliders who take off above the Jhelum Valley below.
