Sandspit Beach

Sandspit Beach is a protected coastal area along the Arabian Sea featuring an elongated sandy shoreline and natural rock outcrops. The formation creates sheltered shallow waters and calm sections ideal for swimming and recreational activities.

The natural breakwater formation helped establish Karachi as a major port on the Arabian Sea coast. This geographic advantage has been significant to the city's maritime development for many decades.

The beach serves as a weekend gathering spot where families enjoy traditional leisure activities including camel and horse rides along the shoreline.

The beach is accessible by bus from Lea Market or by taxi from central Karachi. Early morning or late afternoon visits offer the most comfortable conditions, with less crowding and gentler sunlight.

Green and olive ridley turtles nest on the beach during early winter months as part of their breeding cycle. The Sindh Wildlife Department actively manages conservation programs to protect these animals and their eggs.
