Ujście Warty Landscape Park, Nature reserve near Gryfino County, Poland
Landschaftsschutzpark Warthemündung is a protected area in Gryfino County where the Warta and Odra rivers meet. The site features extensive wetlands, river floodplains, and forests that create a complex natural landscape.
The reserve received protection in 1977 as a pivotal moment for Polish environmental conservation. Seven years later it gained recognition as a wetland of international importance.
The reserve functions as an educational center through the Nature Education Center in Górzyca, offering field studies and laboratory sessions for students.
Visit during the walking season when trails are dry and most accessible for exploration. Early morning and late afternoon offer the best conditions for observing wildlife activity in the reserve.
The area harbors more than 240 bird species, with over 160 breeding in the reserve. Winter months bring a dramatic shift as hundreds of thousands of water and marsh birds arrive to rest and feed.
