Fort Roon, Military fortification in Poznań, Poland

Fort Roon features a rectangular layout with rounded sides, containing thirty-two casemates spread across two levels for defensive operations against potential attacks.

Karl von Grolman designed this defensive structure in 1832 as part of the Poznań Fortress complex, incorporating a bridge connection to Fort Winiary.

The fortification changed its name from Brückenkopf to Reduta Czecha after 1919, reflecting the transformation of Polish military heritage through different periods.

The lower section of Fort Roon currently houses a civil defense shelter, and visitors need authorization from facility management to access the premises.

A water moat surrounds the fort with earthen slopes and counter-slopes, while its elevated left flank contained positions for two artillery cannons.
