Lecha Bridge

Lecha Bridge spans the Warta River and consists of two separate carriageways with multiple spans for traffic. It carries National Road 92 as a key route for vehicles crossing the river.

The northern section was built in the 1950s, while the southern carriageway was added during the 1990s. This expansion responded to growing traffic demands of the developing city.

The bridge takes its name from Lech, a legendary figure in Polish tradition. It connects two major streets on opposite sides of the Warta River.

The bridge is open daily for traffic and becomes congested during peak hours. Walking or cycling across it gives you a better view of the structure and the river below.

During a recent upgrade, the northern carriageway was completely rebuilt rather than simply repaired. This major work reflected changing engineering standards and traffic needs.
