Barania Góra Hostel, Mountain hut in Silesian Beskids, Poland.
Schronisko PTTK Przysłop pod Baranią Górą is a mountain hut in the Silesian Beskids situated at 951 meters elevation. The building provides sleeping arrangements in different room types with roughly 90 beds total and includes a dining hall and kitchen facilities.
Originally, a wooden hunting lodge built in 1897 for Archduke Friedrich Habsburg's hunting expeditions stood at this location. The structure was later transformed into a modern mountain refuge to serve hikers in the area.
The refuge serves as a gathering point for hikers and mountain enthusiasts exploring this region. Visitors encounter people who continue the tradition of hiking and appreciating the Beschids' natural environment.
The location is accessible via several marked hiking trails that connect the main building to Barania Góra and surrounding peaks. Visitors should note that this is a mountain setting and appropriate hiking gear is necessary.
Next to the main building stands a wooden structure that houses the Barania Góra Center for Mountain Tourism History. This center is titled 'At the Sources of Vistula' and documents the tourism history of this mountain region.
